About
Siskiyou Skies Observatory is a private observatory located just outside of Grants Pass in the southwest part of Oregon. Constructed started in the summer of 2017 and first light was in June 2018.
The roll-off-roof style observatory houses a single pier that is home to an Astro-Physics 1600GTO mount that holds a Celestron C9.25 EdgeHD telescope. The imager currently in use is an SBIG STF-8300C. Autoguiding is facilitated using the SBIG OAG-8300 with a monochrome ST-i guide camera. The effective focal length of the system is about 2390 mm (f/10.2). The cameras and off-axis guider are mounted to an Optec TCF-Si focuser.
The whole system is controlled and automated using ACP, MaxIm DL, and FocusMax.
